Bryan Black

Double check that you're recording on all channels before begining a podcast.

All the remote audio capture for Frontier episode 29 is gone.

First fail was due to operator error:

Press record next time

Press record next time

Bad start, but good thing for backups

All audio passing in and out of the workstations audio interface gets captured to a Zoom H4n hardware audio recorder as a backup.

Then the second fail. This time due to a corrupted SD card.

Durring retrieval of the backup, the file just disappeared.

Never just accept what Finder shows you. Launch the Terminal.

ALL THE FILES!  ls -la

ALL THE FILES!  ls -la

The recoverd file ended up like this:

70% of the audio is nausea-inducing, ear-bleeding static

70% of the audio is nausea-inducing, ear-bleeding static

TL;DR SD cards are unreliable. Measure twice, cut once.
